5 minutes with Lauren McIver

You’ve probably seen a few blogs from our Nurse Educator Lauren by now, but we wanted to give you a glimpse into Lauren’s personality.

Grab a coffee (or tea!) and sit down to read all about our lovely Nurse Educator.

Q. How long have you worked at Caring for You?

A.  I have worked at Caring for You since September 2014

Q. What does your job entail?

A. As Nurse Educator no day is the same! I’m currently writing online education sessions for members that help them obtain CPD points, as well as writing and developing group education sessions to deliver to our members throughout the year.

I also deliver one-on-one educational sessions to members who require more support and education to further develop skills in nursing areas that require specific assistance.

I practice as a Registered Nurse for Caring for You. It’s important for me to work in the same environment as other members and to keep my acute skills and aged care skills at a maximum.

Q. What do you like to do in your free time?

A. This is a tough one! I don’t have a lot of free time like all working nurses and mums.

My free time is spent with my family and friends.

I have 3 active boys so currently I am learning the rules of football and soccer (so I know when they are cheating or not).

I live on the Mornington Peninsula with my family, so currently weekends are spent at the beach doing simple family things. I am getting very good at using NERF water pistols thanks to the kids and their games!

I regularly spend time showing my family and friends know how important they are to me and how much I love them.

For the past 18 years, nursing has always been my passion. I try to remain as up to date with changes in the healthcare industry, so a lot of my spare time involves reading nursing journals.

Oh and I have an addiction to FOXTEL!
